Workshop
PANTOMIME & PHYSICAL THEATRE (2x3h)
In this workshop you will get to expelore the basics of pantomime and physical theatre. On the first night of the workshop, participants will get acquinted with "mime walk", "pulling therope" and "the box", alongside other pantomime techinques. The skills are built one step at a time.
The second night will concentrate on the basics of physical theatre and expressiveness without words. This will include body awareness, body control and using your body to expresses things on stage. The aim is to realize the possibilities of physical expression in theatre making. Both nights conclude with short performances, in which the participants get to utilize what they have learned immediately.
This workshop is suitable for everyone interested in pantomime and physical theatre. The minimum number of participants is 8, maximum 14.

PANTOMIIMI JA FYYSINEN TEATTERI (2x3h)
Tässä fyysisen teatterin työpajassa pääset tutustumaan kehollisen ilmaisun ulottuvuuksiin. Ensimmäisenä perjantaina "miiminen kävely", "köydenveto" ja "laatikko" tulevat tutuiksi, muiden pantomiimin tekniikoiden ohella. Tekniikat opitaan askel kerrallaan ja illan päätteksi päästään esiintymäänkin ja siten soveltamaan opittuja taitoja saman tien.
Toisena perjantaina perehdytään fyysisen ja sanattoman ilmaisun alkeisiin. Illan aikana keskitytään oman kehon hahmottamiseen, kehon hallintaan sekä kehon käyttöön ilmaisussa. Kurssin tavoitteena on hahmottaa fyysisen ja sanattoman ilmaisun tuomaa lisäulottuvuutta näyttämölliseen ilmaisuun. Myös toisen kurssi-illan päätteeksi päästään käyttämään opittua miniesityksissä.
Kurssi sopii kaikille pantomiimistä ja fyysisestä teatterista kiinnostuneille. Kurssin minimiosallistujamäärä 8 henkilöä, maksimi 14.
Opettaja / Teacher
Jani Hämäläinen on Teatterikorkeakoulusta 2022 teatteritaiteen maisteriksi valmistunut esiintyjä, ohjaaja, dramaturgi ja fyysisen ilmaisun kouluttaja. Hämäläisen pohja on juurtunut vahvasti näyttelijäntyöhön, niin teatterin kuin improvisaationkin osalta. Hän on kokenut fyysisen sekä sanattoman teatterIn kouluttaja ja ammentaa inspiraatiota myös mm. butoh-tanssista ja Tai Chistä.
Jani Hämäläinen is a Finnish theater make with Master of fine arts from 2022. Jani is a performer, director, dramaturg and a teacher of physical theatre. Jani's Foundation in theatre and improvisation is in the art of acting. Hämäläinen is an experienced instructor of physical and Silent theatre and is also inspired by Butoh and thai chi.

For almost four decades Shawn Kinley has been asked to teach in 54 countries using Improvisation theory in Science, the Arts, Business and numerous other fields.
Shawn’s home base is Canada which he is rarely in. He works with people in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australasia and Africa 9 months of the year.
Broadly speaking, Shawn teaches workshops and performs. He is passionate about the education process, how we think and engage each other on and off stage.
More specifically Shawn engages performers, businesses people, health care professionals, education experts, scientists, toy-makers, dancers, psychologists and even the military in various forms of improvisation and movement to make their world a little better.

FAILURE IS AN OPTION (8h)
Fear stifles risk, and without risk, improvisation becomes flat. In this workshop, learn to view failure not as defeat but as a powerful tool for discovery. Doing everything "RIGHT" might be why some improvisation turns flat, uninspiring and wrong. Being a vulnerable, playful improviser who embraces risk and failure opens doors to other "right" possibilities.
